Dr Claire Taylor

Claire did her PhD at The Australian National University and joined our group to work on nest structure focusing on superb fairy-wrens. She explores how temperatures affect eggs and potentially the way that birds build their nests. Follow the link to her website to learn more.

STUDENTS

Fabian_Salgad.jpg

Fabian Salgado (2020-2024)

Fabian is a PhD student at University of Melbourne and he works with colourful spiders and the evolution and consequences of colour polymorphism.

SilviaPhoto.jpg

Silvia Colombo (2021-2025)

Silvia is a PhD student working on the evolution of nests and is co-supervised by Naomi Langmore (ANU) and me. She is interested in understanding the importance of nest architecture in thermal properties of nests. Link to Silvia’s CV here.

Kei-Lin Ooi (2021-2025)

Kei-Lin is a PhD student co-supervised by Devi Stuart-Fox and I. Her work explores the effects that anti-predator colourations could have at a macroevolutionary scale. Link to Kei-Lin’s CV here.

Amy Carboon (2023-2025)

Amy is a MSc student cosupervised by Devi Stuart-Fox and I. She is working on the link between behaviour and iridescence in colourful birds, using museum data and video footage of courtships.

Cassie Taylor (2018-2021)

Cassie is a PhD student co-supervised by Naomi Langmore (ANU) and I. She works with yellow-rumped thornbills and is interested in understanding why they have such special nests.
